Who We Are
Commonwealth of Kentucky Homeschool Athletics (CKY) is an athletics organization designed for all homeschooled athletes. Instead of a cooperative that later added athletics, we are uniquely an athletic organization only, welcoming student-athletes from all cooperatives and all home-education methods.
Mission
Our mission is to build a competitive athletic community that glorifies the Lord,
encouraging complete devotion to Him, while enjoying Christian fellowship and training of young athletes along the way.
Motivation & Guidance
Our motivation and guidance for providing athletic opportunities to homeschool students is found in Christ alone, the center and attention of all we do, desiring that youth see Jesus, understanding above all else that Jesus saves.
We are motivated to do what we do:
- according to the command and will of God,
- in faith, because of trusting in Jesus,
- for the glory of God, never for ourselves,
- and springing from and motivated by love for Christ.
We individually and collectively are driven by this profitable question: What more can I do for my Lord Jesus Christ?
"Our people must also learn to engage in good deeds to meet pressing needs, so that they will not be unfrutiful." - Titus 3:14
We are guided by Romans 5:1-5:
- Perseverance - through perseverance, leaders are created through leadership abilities being learned and cultivated
- Character - character is built through perseverance, shown by patience, gratitude, and respect
- Hope - leaders with character have hope, not in themselves, but in knowing that the glory of God is their eternal position
Method
CKY Homeschool Athletics fulfills its mission by offering competitive athletic opportunities to home-educated K-12 students, while honoring the freedom of homeschool families to choose the educational curriculum and communities that best suit their individual needs.
Therefore, our organization is committed to:
- Submitting ourselves to Christ in all areas involving our organization and its practices.
- Supporting homeschool families across the state by providing high-quality, competitive athletic opportunities for home-educated student-athletes in a sportsmanlike environment.
- Encouraging a spirit of volunteerism within our organization to guard the affordability of our programming and to ensure that families may contribute to the quality of our collective experience through their time and talents.
- Developing athletic programs and academic services that meet the needs of the growing population of homeschool families in our region.
